A Message from the Associate Director

The Department of Interior's (DOI) Financial Business Management System is currently in its sixth deployment, and is being implemented throughout the Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) and the National Business Center (NBC). As our premier enterprise-wide system for the DOI, we expect streamlined efficiencies to result from this new tool. However, as we migrate through this complex transition to the new system, we ask for your patience if our payments to you are slightly delayed. Rest assured we are diligently working behind the scenes to give you, our customer, the best possible service with the least amount of interruption.

Over the next several months, we will also be taking steps to incorporate business process recommendations from the recently completed NBC Strategic Assessment. As we focus on being the premier shared service provider for the Federal government, the Strategic Assessment has given us a strong foundation for the future. The next phase, the NBC Transformation, will begin January 2012, and will reposition the organization to better address our customers' needs. As a key stakeholder in this effort, AQD is fully engaged in making this transformation a successful endeavor that will benefit all our customers.
